Thin-Blood Alchemy: Calcinatio

Calcinatio is amazingly thematic but incredibly janky and unintuitive to use. In order to use powers like Soaring Leap or Far Reach, you need to be sucking on the victim. The *power level minus one* rule also makes level 1 power use free and infinite.

My house rule focuses on the core aspects of Calcinatio, which is the maintenance of a large herd of different mortals and access to their blood.

Original

V5 Core, pg 284

The Alchemist can only distill one power per victim, though the victim retains the formula within them as long as they’re kept in the same emotional state; each power takes as long to activate as it takes to drain that quantity of blood (p. 212).

House Rule

The Alchemist can only distill one power per victim, though the victim retains the formula within them as long as they’re kept in the same emotional state. The distilled formula counts as tapping a Dyscrasia with the requirement of draining enough blood to slake Hunger equal to the level of the formula minus 1, minimum one. The Dyscrasia lasts until used, until the Kindred feeds again or reaches Hunger 5.
