Alternate Diablerie
This condenses the first set of rolls into a single one, and prevents the loss of a narratively important diablerie due to failure, changing it so that you cannot kill a vampire by failing to draw out their soul. The Humanity risk is removed besides the auto-loss and changed to Aggravated Willpower damage. Rewards are now based solely on the Victim and only affects Blood Potency and Generation.
New Rules
Diablerie may be performed on a vampire at Hunger 5, usually in torpor or restrained. With a Strength + Resolve roll at Difficulty 4, the prospective Diablerist draws out the hearts blood of the Vampire and consumes it.
Once the spark is consumed, the victim slips into Final Death, the Diablerist and the Victim fight a battle of Humanity + Blood Potency against Resolve + Blood Potency. Neither side can use Willpower to reroll. On a success, the Diablerist consumes the victim without issue, on a failure, the Diablerist takes Aggravated Willpower damage equal to the margin. If the Willpower Tracker is filled with Aggravated in this way, the vampire becomes possessed by their Victim. If the victim wasn’t of low Generation or high Blood Potency, the Diablerist may Win at a Cost and take Diablerie Flaws (Gehenna War, p. 45) to avoid possession. In either case, the Diablerist:
- Loses 1 point of Humanity
- If the Victim had a greater Blood Potency, gains Blood Potency dots equal to half of the difference in Blood Potency, rounded up.
- If the Victim had a lower Generation, lowers their Generation equal to half of the difference in Generation, rounded up.
- Spreads (3 - Blood Potency gain, 1 minimum) dots in the Victim’s highest Disciplines, up to their rating.
- Gains black veins on their Aura, persisting for a year, or for years equal to the increase in generation.

Optional Rules
- You are what you eat: If using a system that allows changing discipline powers, only give Discipline powers known by the Victim and allow changing any of the Vampire's current powers to one known by the victim.
