"The Wyndham and everything in it obeys me. Why should the flesh be any different?" - Theo Wyndham of the Old Clan

While the Tzimisce are most associated with careful fleshcrafting and delicate surgical procedures, some Fiends develop their gifts in less subtle directions. This power bypasses the victim's mind and commands their body directly, forcing nerves to fire and muscles to contract of their own accord.

  • Cost: One Rouse Check
  • Dice Pool: Charisma + Dominate vs Stamina + Resolve or Fortitude
  • System: With a moment of eye contact and a word or gesture, the vampire gives a single command to the victim's physical body. While this can't cause permanent damage without Terminal Decree, the effects can be quite debilitating. This power is always resisted with Stamina + Resolve against the vampire's Charisma + Dominate, as fundamental instincts fight back against this sort of manipulation; vampires and ghouls with Fortitude can use that in place of either attribute.

In particular:

  • The vampire can shut down one of their victim's senses. This causes them to automatically fail any rolls relying on that sense, along with other effects as appropriate: someone who's lost their sense of balance needs to roll Dexterity + Athletics (difficulty 3) to move faster than a crawl, for example, while someone who's lost their sense of pain ignores physical impairment.
  • The vampire can disable one of the victim's limbs, leaving it paralyzed, numb, or otherwise useless. Switching to a non-dominant hand subtracts two dice from all Strength and Dexterity rolls, while losing a leg requires a crutch or something to hold on to in order to move effectively.
  • By manipulating breathing patterns, the vampire can cause a mortal to pass out (or awaken) within about thirty seconds. Kindred don't need to breathe to remain conscious, but can still be prevented from speaking.
  • Alternately, the vampire can reverse any effect imposed by this power.

This power can be applied multiple times to the same victim, but each use must be done separately. If the vampire also possesses Terminal Decree, they can push a mortal's body past its limits, causing long-term damage; disabled senses and limbs require extensive therapy or surgery to repair, while suffocation can become fatal within minutes. Otherwise, all effects fade after one scene.

  • Duration: One scene
