Oblivion Ceremony ••••
- Prerequisite: Necrotic Plague
Known to very few Hecata, primarily of the Harbingers of Ashur, this jealously-guarded Ceremony is the result of centuries of study into corpses as a gateway between life and death, and how to apply such characteristics to the ambulatory, blood-drinking corpses (i.e. vampires). In particular, this power explores the facts that true corpses to not fear the soul, the Beast, or even the sun.
- Cost: 3 Rouse Checks
- Dice Pool: {{{dicepool}}}
- System: The necromancer rolls their Ceremony roll, and on a win, their body takes on the aspect of the corpse, becoming shriveled and decayed as appropriate for the vampire's age. In so doing, they gain one of the following effects (on a critical win, they can gain 2):
- They gain +2 dice when resisting manipulation by Social rolls or through the use of Disciplines such as Presence
- They gain +2 dice when resisting Frenzy from any source, including Hunger
- They find themselves completely immune to the damaging effects of sunlight and can resist daysleep.
However, these boons do not come without side-effects. Due to the fact that the vampire's visage becomes severely corpse-like and the fact that a corpse lacks emotion and Willpower, the vampire suffers -2 penalty to all Social rolls aside from Intimidation and cannot spend Willpower to re-roll for any task (a corpse has no worries, after all). These effects last for a number of hours equal to the successes rolled.
- Duration: Variable
