Message in the Spirit Mirror

This ritual allows the necromancer to use an obsidian mirror to transmit a handwritten message from one specially-prepared obsidian mirror to another.
- Cost: 1 Rouse Check
- Dice Pool: Resolve + Oblivion
- System: Ingredients: An obsidian mirror no smaller than six inches in diameter that has had its edges sharpened to cut into the flesh of whoever takes hold of it, the caster’s vitae, ashes from a cremated body, a black candle.
Process: The necromancer grasps the obsidian mirror, cutting into their skin and allowing their vitae to flow over the mirror’s surface. Once the blood covers the mirror, the necromancer dips their finger into the ashes of a cremated body and uses them to scrawl a message onto the mirror’s surface. Once the message is written, the necromancer places a black candle in front of the mirror and allows it to burn down. Once the candle has fully exhausted itself, the message on the mirror is transmitted to the mirror of another necromancer, where it remains visible until read. To prepare a mirror, the necromancer must burn a black candle on the mirror, while slowly dripping 1 Rouse Check’s worth of blood onto it, directly from their hand. Holding their hand over the fire for this extended time requires a Terror Frenzy check (Difficulty 2). Once the mirror has been prepared, it can receive messages from other necromancers who have seen it.
