Oblivion Ceremony ••••

The curses of Kindred lie in the blood itself, and through the use of this Ceremony, both Kindred and mortals can be temporarily inflicted with a Clan Bane, either to harm the victim out of punishment or sadism, or allow them to disguise themselves as a different clan for infiltration. A victim can only be cursed with Banes they could actually feel the effect of. For example, someone without the ability to Frenzy cannot be cursed with the Gangrel's Bane.

  • Cost: One Rouse Check
  • Dice Pool: Resolve + Oblivion
  • System: This Ceremony has the following rules and ingredients:
    • Ingredients: Vitae of a Kindred who suffers from the Bane you wish to inflict, a piece of the victim or something they hold dear, a way to completely destroy the object
    • Process: The caster must pour the Vitae holding the desired Bane over the piece of the victim or the object they hold dear and speaks the name of the victim and a basic description of the curse they are being inflicted with. After the object is coated in blood, the object needs to be destroyed, the most common form is throwing it into an open flame but many other methods could be used as long as the victim has no hope of retrieving or repairing it afterwards.
    • System: The caster must make an Oblivion Ceremony roll, upon a win, the victim suffers from the Bane for a number of nights equal to the number of successes rolled. On a Critical win, the amount of time is doubled. The Bane Severity of the temporary curse is equal to the victim's Stains + 1. If the victim already suffers from the Bane chosen, then their Bane Severity is counted as 2 higher for the length of the curse. On a Total failure, the victim becomes immune to this power for a year

Part of my idea for Baali in V5 where they are not a bloodline but a cult of infernalist Aapilu worshippers. The powers, instead of using demons, focus on Stains
